Hi ! Thanks for stopping by. Four years ago when I started on this crazy romantic dream of being a writer I never thought it would consume  me the way it has. It's my passion and my obsession; a lonely cerebral world where you wrap yourself around images in search of the light. It's worth every bead of blood as you sit staring at that blinking cursor waiting for the right combination of letters to click into place like tumblers in a lock. When the words are right, they never lie and that's the magic. I've posted a few stories, links to contest winning entries and a few chapters of a book in progress titled "No Regrets" based on the life of Joe Notter, winner of the 1915 Kentucky Derby. They're an eclectic mix of voices and places from an ex Navy SEAL in the Everglades to a barrel racing cowgirl in Texas to  a young boy in turn of the century Brooklyn. I'll be adding new material regularly so stop back anytime. As of the New Year I'm back to work full time and squeezing in the words on weekends. I'm proud to announce I've won  The Philip Mangelsdorf Award for Writing Excellence. The contest was for the best lead with a 150 word limit to hook the reader. I won first and second place with two short stories "Saints Preserve Us" and "Living on the Edge". They're now posted in the short stories section. Please be sure to check out all the great happenings at Lip Service Stories. There's many new shows added including "Lip Schtick" performed November 7th 2009.Click on the "stories" bubble on the home page and then "1 & 2" to hear my reading of "Mothers Didn't Leave".
